We are Santa's Elves!

Samantha wrapped for two hours yesterday. When she was done she told me that when she grows up she would like to be one of Santa's elves. Emily and I got to ring the bells for The Salvation Army at Park Meadows. A fun experience to share with her.

Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree!

Levi was the center of attention as we celebrated Christmas with the Wilson's. He is a little bruiser. The key is to grab him when you can, as Brad did here. He never stops moving!
Letting the food settle with Grandma Jean, Grandpa Mark, Uncle Bill and Aunt Bert!
The Rock Band begins with a mere 2 players...
Then it grows...
and grows...
Until it is complete as the master percussionist blows everyones brains out! Time to sing carols by the piano and open presents! Levi was wondering what the heck we were doing.
This picture is precious as it depicts my Mom in her natural state. She is always giggling.
I think he made 8 out of 9 shots. Tyson says "His initials aren't L.J. for nothin'." (that's Levi James, not LeBron James)
Christmas just wouldn't be Christmas without giving one of the Wilson boys a Nerf gun. Critter was the lucky one this year.

Music, lights, presents!!!

The weather warmed up enough for Brad to hang some lights. They are huge and light up the front yard! I love it! One of our trek kids, Brandon Kile, gave a wonderful gift to Brad and I for Christmas this year. He made "storyteller" sculptures depicting us as "Ma and Pa". We are both holding 4 babies in our arms depicting our 8 trek kids. It was the coolest, most thoughtful gift we have ever gotten. Thank you Brandon!
Emily had a Choir Christmas Concert this year. She did very well and was part of the descant. She looked so grown up that night.

The Young Men and Young Women of our ward went Christmas Carolling at the Cherylynn Nursing Home. There was one paticular patient that was squealing with joy and waving her hands at us! Emily is in the middle. Here is Brad singing and in the foreground is the sweet patient that was squealing and waving!Emily and 3 other girls (Megan Tice and Andy Potter) were pulled into a room and gave a private concert to a patient. This isn't the highest quality photo, but I love it because it is my 3 kids serving together! I feel so lucky that Brad and I are serving in the YM/YW organization with Joe and Emily (and Samantha usually tagging along). It offers up wonderful opportunities and blessings like these.

2nd Annual Christmas Cookie Party

Our Christmas Cookie party started with Brad pushing Samantha's nose into the frosting jar. She kept it there the whole night. Braydon took the first step and cut a cookie and brought it to me...he was so excited to participate!
Samantha and Maddy Tice=goofballs!
Joshua did not waste any time and began the cookie baking process!
How beautiful are these kids!?
Ok-the party has officially started because Levi has arrived...

Maddy and her genius way of transferrring dough to cookie sheet.
First things first, Levi tries the frosting.
Everybody gets busy!
Even the teenage boys take part (for like 2 minutes...)
Emily and her BFF, Megan

Uncle Brad admiring Jacob's decorating (he poured the whole bottle of sprinkles on his cookie!)!

Uncle Brad giving Jacob more sugar...

Then Brad added a drop of frosting to his nose and he was trying to look at it-this is him going cross eyed!

Denice and Braydon Cortez...awwww

Levi and Joe playing the Chipmucks Christmas song over and over and over. We offered to give it to Joci and Tyson to take home but they didn't want it. I can't imagine why? "Me, I want a hula hoop! We can hardly stand to wait, please Christmas don't be late!"
As you can see, Levi was filled with the Christmas cheer!

A wonderful evening filled with the Spirit of Christmas!

Cutting down a Christmas tree

Christmas Memories 2009...This was our Christmas memory for 2009. Cutting down a real tree for the Wilsons. So, off we go to search for the perfect treeEmily was basically skiing down this hill with her "Ugs" on. They provide zero traction, but they sure look cute!Samantha with her bag of treasures. She loves to collect things off the forest floor.
Critter, the "tree hugger."A hike in the woods wouldn't be complete without finding an old piece of furniture like Brad did here.We climbed up and down hills.Mike and Melanie pondering where their perfect tree could be. Found it! Tanner starts cutting her down!Christopher lends a hand..."TIMBERRRRR!" I have always wanted to say that!
She's a beauty and now it's time to drag her back to the truck!
Dragging...
Still dragging...
What can I say-adorable
This photo was meant for a Christmas gift for Grandma Jean and Grandpa Mark but I ruined it with my ugliness.
I wuv him...
A race to the finish with Samantha getting a head start!
And the day ends with all you can eat buffet at Pizza Hut.
